According to Jeff Solochek at the Tampa Bay Times, Florida’s testing system is having problems today.
Florida’s online testing system crashed again Monday morning, after a relatively problem-free week.
In a repeat of troubles that occurred during the March writing exams, schools were not able to access the servers of vendor American Institutes for Research.
The Florida Department of Education told districts they had hoped to have the problems resolved by 8:30 a.m., but that didn’t happen.
“We’re still waiting,” Hillsborough district spokesman Steve Hegarty told the Gradebook at 9:35 a.m.
Broward School district has tweeted that they will suspend testing for the rest of the day. Orange, Palm Beach, and Leon Counties have, as well.
UPDATE from Tampa Bay Times: The Florida Department of Education told school districts they could resume testing at about 10:30 a.m. Victoria Ash, chief of the department assessment bureau, wrote: “As you are all quite aware, this morning, AIR experienced issues with the login server, which prevented Test Administrators from starting sessions and students being unable to sign into tests. These issues have now been resolved. Test Administrators may need to clear the cache and restart their browser before accessing the TA Interface to start sessions.”
