Community Conversations are exactly what they sound like- public dialogue. The Alliance for Public Schools gathers community members, teachers, school district representatives, parents and students together to have important discussions in support of children and their public schools. We feel that the community should play an important role in creating a vision for what their public schools should be and advocating to achieve that vision.
These Conversations provide space for families, students, educators and community members to share their knowledge of and thoughts about where the schools are in alignment to the community and where they should be headed. The unique and interactive format of the Conversations enables Alliance facilitators to hear from a wide variety of stakeholders who share their aspirations and concerns for their schools and identify the role schools play in the community.
