The Student Alliance for Public Schools was founded by a group of students in Hillsborough County that attended one of the first Community Conversations. They wanted to elevate their own voice in public school policies and decisions.
Currently, Student Alliance programs are at select schools in Hillsborough and Osceola Counties. These groups are working on student led solutions to raising the graduation rate. They presented their work to the Tampa Bay community last March at the GradNation Community Summit.
Students will be meeting over the summer to review their school data and plan programs for the fall. They will collaborate with each other and with administrators. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish this year.
