Virtual Community Legislative Priorities Conference

For four years the Alliance has been speaking to parents, teachers, students and community members about children and their public schools. Numerous issues emerged as important to them. These issues were placed into six main categories and research was compiled for each issue. On January 20th, we hosted our Community Legislative Priorities Conference in Tampa. Attendees read the research and ranked the issues within each category from most important to least through a series of exercises and enthusiastic conversations. The categories (in no particular order) are:

  • Pathways to student success and graduation

  • Teachers and teaching

  • Testing

  • Funding

  • Educating the whole child

  • Educational governance

We would like you to participate in a virtual conversation and rank the same priorities. This is the process that shaped the Alliance for Public Schools’ 2016 Community Legislative Priorities for public education.

Although the 2016 Community Legislative Priorities have been set, we continue to collect responses to help shape our collective voice. Please answer the questions below. Click here to view policy research on each category. Refer to the research as you make your choices on the issues.
