In July, students from seven Hillsborough high schools met at Jefferson High School. They were hand picked by their principals and success specialists to lend their voice to raising graduation rates for their peers. They spent three days hearing from senior district officials, learning about graduation rates at their schools, and sharing their own ideas about ways to identify and solve barriers to graduation for themselves and their peers.
On the last day of the conference, they were joined by administrators from their schools to collaborate on plans for the school year. They left energized and ready to hit the ground running in the fall.
